In the US, the government has enacted an A2P (Application to Person) texting law that requires a $20 or so registration fee and a bit less than $10 per month maintenance, but that's the government expense for any business with a texting capacity.

The larger frustration for many is trying to clear the establishing of A2P compliance on this but we can make that a pretty easy thing.

Each phone line will charge $1-2 per month just to be assigned to you - this is commonly about $25-50 a month for providers that only give you this.

Emails and texts have reputation scores and limits on how many can go out per day at first until you prove you do things without being too spammy.

Stripe and/or other payment processing is almost a must.

Having a social media and/or Google advertising budget would be very beneficial to build up an audience.

Obviously you will need to fulfill state, local, and national business registration and reporting maintenance requirements based on what you'll be doing and where.

Oh, and I would strongly recommend you build from a desktop or at worst a laptop computer. A phone alone is a very difficult build platform.

So if you're completely devoid of income, you will need to have about what it would take to keep your vehicle running (probably a lot less than that these days.)

And even if any of that becomes too expensive to maintain, we'll keep your sub-account going until you can renew and reactivate those core development tools.

We aren't charging for all of those things - those are just needs you'll have and it can be tempting to add a lot more little side tools as there are many available online.

All that said, the HOOKS to running a business at all are many. It's not for the faint of heart!
